Lately, I have been enjoying drawing designs on my iPad then converting them to vectors in Illustrator. I have also been having fun with the symmetry features in Procreate and have created some fun floral designs using it.

I then chose elements to expand into co-ordinate patterns, like the purple seeds or a different version of the small flowers. A pink seed and purple flower alternative are also available at my print-on-demand shops.

This next design was inspired by a flower I randomly drew while taking a Procreate based Skillshare class, the original was part of a wreathe design but I liked it so much I wanted to use it again.

Roses
Sometimes when I don’t know what to make I will look back through things I have drawn before to see if anything makes inspiration strike and this time I found a small rose doodle in my sketchbook and an outline I had drawn in procreate.
When I drew them I had no end result in mind other than practice but looking at them again with fresh eyes I thought they would make nice patterns.

I liked the subtle effect of the rose outline pattern and chose to make two alternative colours for the print on demand sites.

Motifs
Once more playing about with the Symmetry feature in Procreate I decided to try making some geometric motifs. Until I begin tiling the motif I can’t always visualise how it will look so it was a pleasant surprise when the blue pattern emerged when I let them overlap.
