There are certain styles that I personally find very appealing, Scandinavian style is one of them, this collection of patterns is loosely based off that particular style.

I made this collection after watching a Skillshare tutorial by Elizabeth Olwen, where she mentioned having a hero pattern, secondary patterns and blender prints, so I started with the dense pattern on the left then used elements from that to create the others.

I had hoped to submit it to Shutterstock as a collection but the 15mb file size limit made that difficult, so in the end I had to upload as separate files but they do at least let you sort them into a collection, Adobe on the other hand have much larger file size limits so there I have it as a single file.
When I signed to 123rf they wanted me to submit ten patterns in my first batch so I split them again, would be nice if they had a collection feature like Shutterstock but if they do I haven’t found it.

I have noticed when I look at patterns I tend to be drawn towards a certain type, Mid Century is another style I really like, as somebody who has never really been into florals I do find I like the hand drawn abstract florals both these styles have.
I’m still trying to develop my own style when it comes to the hand drawn look, but I guess that will come with time and practice. I’ve spent so many years being pixel precise I need to learn to draw more loosely again.
