Sometimes I just create whatever I feel like in the moment and this was one of those times.

I had this image floating around in my mind of different leaves placed over a checkered squares pattern for a few days so decided to just try it, and I liked the result. From the start I had visualised it in shades of green but as it was Autumn I also made a warm brown version .

For co-ordinates I made a small scattered version with the leaves and a striped check, then a smaller check pattern but this time with a single motif dotted about in the squares.

After looking at the product previews on Redbubble I decided not to add the scattered and small check patterns, the details are so small and fine I wasn’t sure how well they would print, the fabric samples came out well though so they are both available at Spoonflower.
